It takes a village.
It is a team effort to ensure that our children are supported, engaged, and enjoying their school experience. The reality is, sometimes barriers get in the way of success leading parents down a path of “where do I turn to for support?” Be it turning to family, school staff, or other organizations, healthy relationships can help break down barriers, lay a foundation of effective communication and help families get desired results. During this workshop we talk about ways in which the parent teacher interview can play a role in this.

Forwards ever, backwards never. Wise words by the late Kwame Nkrumah, 1900–72 Ghanaian statesman, Prime Minister 1957–60, President 1960–6A. His succinct mantra echoes through time, urging us to stride boldly ahead, leaving hesitation in our wake. 🚀
In the relentless march of progress, we forge ahead, our eyes fixed on the horizon. The past, a mere shadow, fades as we chase the sun. Each step propels us toward uncharted realms, where dreams take flight and possibilities bloom like wildflowers.
The last year has been one of greatness as Black mentors, mentees, parents, guardians, and caregivers have achieved goals, not aiming for perfection but for progress. Navigation systems while breaking down barriers as a result of COVID19, has been at the forefront. Be it in person, online, or other ways of communication, through workshops, mentorship, coaching and advocacy, Black families have been empowered to be agents of positive change and to build resilience. Now we celebrate and continue to build.
