Youth Empowerment for Employment

Youth Empowerment for Employment (YEE) is a dynamic program by Family Fuse designed to help youth ages 15-30 gain the skills, confidence, and certifications they need to thrive in today’s workforce. Whether you’re a young person looking to kickstart your career or an employer seeking dedicated and job-ready talent, YEE is here to support your success.

To participate in the Program, youth must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Be legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

  • Must not be currently employed and must not be enrolled in school.

Youth who fail to meet these criteria will be exempt from participation in the program and from receiving payment.

Through 4 weeks of intensive, paid in-class training, you’ll learn directly from industry professionals who share valuable insights on how to succeed in the workplace or to help you return to school.

  • Job Readiness & Retention: Learn how to market yourself effectively during interviews, stand out during interviews, maintain professionalism, and excel in your role.

  • Dressing for Success: Discover how to present yourself confidently and make a lasting impression.

  • Microsoft 365 Training: Build proficiency in essential workplace skills to enhance your productivity and value.

  • ES/EST: Training will be provided to increase confidence, time management, resume and cover letter writing.

  • Industry Certifications: Gain recognized certifications that make you a stronger candidate, including:

    ✅ CPR and First Aid

By the end of the training, you’ll be equipped with the skills and certifications needed to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, making you an asset to any employer or classroom.

For Employers

Through our YEE program, we not only train youth—we support employers too. When you hire a YEE youth, you’re gaining a committed and enthusiastic team member prepared to hit the ground running.

Our team provides ongoing support to ensure a smooth transition and long-term success, including:

  • Regular Check-Ins: We stay connected to provide wrap-around support, ensuring both the employer and the youth feel supported.

  • Workforce Readiness: Expect motivated, reliable, and capable employees who are eager to contribute as a member of your team.

  • Wages: Wage subsidy is available for employers to off set the cost of training your new employee.

  • On Site Support: Ongoing coaching, wrap-around support, and feedback will be provided for up to 12 weeks to compliment the training and your new hires performance during the quality employment experience.

  • Employers Agreement: YEE staff are dedicated to offering consistent and reliable support, which is formally outlined and reinforced through a structured 12-week agreement.
