Equality or Equity?

The fight for equality is still being fought and an equally difficult battle for equity is right alongside it.

Equity ensures that people who are less fortunate receive the support they need to be able to reach the same heights and goals of those who were fortunate enough to be born with more privilege. Education has long been a system that has promoted equality without the equity. Black students have fallen further behind than their white peers, with systemic racism dampening and hindering their spirit for learning.

At the core, Family Fuse’s goal has always been to provide more equity in the education system for Black parents. Our passion lies in building up and empowering parents so that they can go on and build up their children for the future. We aim to do this by providing free workshops with both technical and emotional skills needed to effectively navigate the ever-turbulent education system.
