Team Talk Tuesday

As a Communications and Media Intern for Family Fuse, my job is to build relationships with the community both online and offline while bringing awareness to the mission/vision of Family Fuse. Thankfully, this is something I am passionate about! For as long as I can remember, I have always been passionate about community and teams - built from my years of playing high level hockey. My birth name is Jaydlin Spooner and due to being born and raised in Campbell River, British Columbia, this meant I also grew up as a passionate fan of the Vancouver Canucks (sorry, Leafs fans).

For my first year of post-secondary, I attended Olds College in Olds, Alberta studying Sport Management before deciding to switch my career path into Marketing and Media; this led me to where I am now, as a third-year student at the University of Windsor where I study Communications, Media & Film with a minor in Psychology. I also have the privilege of playing with 20 fantastic girls on the female varsity hockey team at the University, #GoLancers! If I’m not watching or playing hockey, studying, or working, you can usually find me trying to improve my skills on the guitar.

When searching for my first-ever internship placement, my internship supervisor sent me an email with Family Fuse’s information on their available internship spot. After hearing of the organization’s goal I knew instantly that I wanted to be a part of growing this initiative. My goal is to get the knowledge of Family Fuse’s amazing resources out to the public and start generating real change in the Windsor-Essex community!
