The Impact of Bullying and How to Stop it!

When we always see our children in a positive light, it is hard to imagine that they could be a bystander or bullying a victim. In any of these roles, victim, bystander or bully, it is important to know the signs, how to educate our children, how to stop and prevent the pain that is experienced when things go unnoticed.

In our Family Fuse workshop called “How to Identify When Your Child is Experiencing Harassment at School”, we look at all angles of support and how to be encouraged if your child is a bully, is being bullied or standing by watching.

Although the information in our graphic was taken from here our workshop digs deeper with research meant to provide positive reinforcement and a sense of belonging in a world where the pressures of society are strong. If we as parents are feeling pressures, imagine how our children may feel. Add exterior influences including mass media, television shows, other children, music, video games, social media, and if they are being bullied, then the emotional and physical wounds can take years to heal.

There is a saying that “prevention is better than cure”. If we can prevent our children from being bullies, being bullied or being bystanders the world will be a much more compassionate and understanding one.
